Biography

Brenda Shuttlesworth serves as Executive Director of Waco Habitat for Humanity.  Brenda and her husband, Bill, relocated from Conroe in 2013 and love being back home in Waco.  Brenda earned her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Baylor University and a Masters in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Brenda has served exclusively in not-for- profit and church organizations.  She served 14 years in community mental health and mental retardation centers in Denton and Conroe, 8 years on church staff in Conroe, 3 years with Buckner Children and Family Services, and most recently with Waco Habitat for Humanity. She is actively engaged in the Waco community, serving on several Boards and civic organizations, including the Rotary Club of Waco, Waco Housing Coalition, Prosper Waco, the Greater Waco Interfaith Conference, and the Chamber LEAD mentoring program. Brenda teaches a course on the Habitat model of ministry in the Department of Philanthropy and Public Service at Baylor University. She also serves as a Field Instructor for the Diana Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University.
